Celebrate With Me!

Dear friends –

This coming Monday, June 2, 2025, marks a momentous occasion for me. It’s the 10th anniversary of my liver transplant. I’m going to spend the day quietly, reveling in the awesome life that I’m living as a result.

Many people have been instrumental in this accomplishment. Many of you walked the perilous journey with me, supporting me financially, spiritually, and emotionally. In fact, there’s a painting that I cherish deeply, that was signed by many people, some of whom I don’t even know, who rallied around me in support.

While June 2 will be spent quietly, if you are reading this, I am writing to invite you to a noisy celebration at the Tap Shack in Carson City, on Sunday, June 1, 3:00-7:00pm. That’s right, this Sunday, I’m celebrating publicly, with all who care to join me.

It’s going to be a casual affair, on the patio. The Tap Shack has a nice barbecue, so I’m buying makings for 100 cheeseburgers, although you may need to cook your own. I’m setting up a small sound system and look forward to an afternoon full of music and friends. If you’re a musician, especially if we’ve made music together, you’re welcome to join in. Players from my recording and performing past will be showing up, including Harsev (JR), aka “Tabla Dude.” Brother Paul is on his way from S. Carolina, and other long-time friends are expected as well.

I’ve not promoted this widely, as I’m hopeful that IYKYK (if you know you know) how important this date is to me. I also hope that you know how important YOU are to me.

Come on, let’s celebrate LIFE!!
